Driving In Cyprus | Driving In Cyprus |
|
With Cyprus being an ex British colony, driving is on the left hand side of the road; as is the case in the UK. Road quality has improved in Cyprus over the last few years, but there are still some major roads with have large pot holes. Caution should be taken at all times. Motorcycle users should take extra care when riding, since locals and tourists alike, pay them little attention; resulting in many casualties each year. Mobile phones are also not to be used whilst driving. There are £50 on the spot fines imposed on those breaking the law. Also, for some reason tourist seem to think that drink driving is OK when on holiday. This is NOT the case. You do not do it at home so don't come to Cyprus and think that toy can. Numerous people are injured and even killed by drunk tourist behind the wheel of a car. |
