Laws regarding smoking are now being enforced rigorously in Paphos, with many bar owners and patrons fined for smoking at the bar. A law was passed outlawing smoking at the bar at few months ago, and owners have been flouting it since.

Many owners have now removed air trays from the bar area and have provided a non-smoking area for their clients.

Both owners and patrons will be found if caught be the police patrolling the bars in Paphos. Fines range from £50 for the patron to £1000 for an owner that re-offends.
