Cyprus is preparing to accept the Euro as its currency in January 2008.

There has been increased publicity of the Euro in the last few days, with TV and newspapers giving basic advice on its use.

The Euro will be accepted in parallel to the existing Cyprus Pound from July 2007, when a fixed exchange rate will be put in place.

Will the Euro be a good thing? We will have to wait and see. But the past has shown that in the existing Euro zone prices increased by on average over 7%.
